Fudgy brownies with cherries (v)
I can’t remember the last time I made brownies at home, but I got to make them seven times on Friday. This was my favorite batch: fudgy and dense but tasting the most strongly of chocolate rather than just sugar. We used applesauce as the egg substitute, which helps the brownies stay moist better than flax seeds or root starch would.
